Goodwill Industries empowers individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment to gain independence through the power of work. We provide employment support and rehabilitation in comfortable, nonjudgmental environments. Programs that offer job training, workforce re-entry assistance and career counseling help New Yorkers overcome barriers to employment that might include lack of experience, language barriers, or disabilities. Goodwill placement services prioritize the background, interests and skills of each person to maximize their success. This approach helps move thousands of individuals towards independence each year. Known for our success in helping persons with disabilities find jobs, our services also empower new immigrants and refugees, unskilled, unemployed and underemployed individuals, U.S. veterans, ex-offenders, and underserved youth to gain employment. We also offer special programs that focus on helping people who are on public assistance find work. In fact, every 15 minutes of every business day, staff from our 70 programs at approximately 30 sites help another person earn a good job.
